I may be slightly biased as a former student of AC4D, but this is a great recap of Diane and Ben’s preliminary efforts and the design research process as a whole. Plus- POST ITS!

You are not an assumption
“User experience issues to be expected” is not the response you want to hear from IT. This is not a reply, this is a testament to the lack of care placed on actual customers over their dollars. Planning year over year growth unfairly makes the customer an assumption. The only experience you will encounter is them leaving you for another company/site that does care.
I can see right through you
In business and life, you can’t be partially transparent. It’s easier to tell the whole truth so you don’t forget what you told to whom.

Meeting expectations is a failed attempt to...
Being lazy is a cop-out to yourself and everyone else you interact with. Addressing what’s expected can only get you - “umm… thanks.”
It’s more than under-promising and over-delivering. It’s about respect. Respect the other side of the table by understanding what they want and how they want to get there. Achieve that by showing a better way. If you can’t,...

The Importance of Small, Go-Nowhere Projects →
kienan:
I’ve built more things for the web than I can remember (luckily, no one else can either). If your goal is to one day launch something of your own, small go-nowhere projects are the best way to cut your teeth. A few notes on the lessons you’ll learn.
1. Learning to launch/quit/fire
Especially if you’re working with others, you’ll quickly learn that weeks or months without launch is a...

Help An Austin Woman Who Lost Her Leg.
If you live in Austin, maybe you’ve already heard about this. My friend works at Chuy’s on North Lamar where his coworker, Kari Willams, lost her leg after being hit by a reckless driver with no insurance.
If you go to eat at the Chuy’s…

Law of the Garbage Truck One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The…

There are so many thought provoking passages here besides the utter sensationalism of the title, “US Declares Bankruptcy!”
On being prepared to make an informed decision when you are most likely to be leveled headed:
