Meeting expectations is a failed attempt to impress.

Being lazy is a cop-out to yourself and everyone else you interact with. Addressing what’s expected can only get you - “umm… thanks.”

It’s more than under-promising and over-delivering. It’s about respect. Respect the other side of the table by understanding what they want and how they want to get there. Achieve that by showing a better way. If you can’t, then you shouldn’t be at the table.

Respect yourself. If you’re a geek / badass / rockstar et al. - don’t hide behind a label - earn it every day. Prove it. Make me realize I’m lucky to be a part of what’s happening right in front of me.

Dazzle me results not rhetoric. It’s a waste of everyone’s time if you don’t.
