There are so many thought provoking passages here besides the utter sensationalism of the title, “US Declares Bankruptcy!”

And the thought that a true win-win situation can (and should) be more than lip service:

When you look at the world with trust you feel hopeful, when you look at it with mistrust you feel mistrust and in danger.

There is a LOT of misused psychology being flaunted around by the current political and business entities in power. Half truths, misconstrued facts and unsupported false initiatives only hurt the very ones intended to receive assistance.

Short-sighted wealth maximization has failed when the entire system has been left unaccounted for. We are a debtor nation on the brink of collapse because of mutual mistrust in each other and the system. The Red Scare never died - it transformed into genuine mistrust of anything limiting the pursuit of happiness, no matter the cost. Why would YOU keep ME from pursuing MY utmost potential?! That’s un-American!

I am hopeful that my peers can design truly disruptive solutions that address complex social issues on a multitude of levels. This will certainly not be easy but nothing worthwhile ever is. The calamity of the recent past is a call to arms for Social Entrepreneurs, Designers and people who give a damn. You actually can make your world a better place by making everyone’s world a better place.
